Boardman House, Renaissance Revival house in Ithaca, United States

The Boardman House stands as a three-story red brick structure with brown trim, featuring a hipped roof and cupola at 120 East Buffalo Street.

Built in 1866 by A.B. Dale for George McChain on land purchased from Ezra Cornell, the house later became property of Judge Douglass Boardman in 1886.

The building served as home to the Ithaca Conservatory of Music from 1911 to 1968, contributing to the educational development of countless musicians.

The National Register of Historic Places listed property now functions as office space, maintaining its structural integrity within the DeWitt Park Historic District.

Local preservation groups successfully prevented the demolition of this building through extensive community campaigns and protests during the 1970s.
