Camden Park, Amusement park in Huntington, United States
Camden Park is an amusement park covering roughly 26 acres with more than thirty rides along Twelvepole Creek in Huntington. The grounds include roller coasters, carousels, and family attractions spread across green spaces and walkways.
The Ohio Valley Electric Railway established the park in 1903 as a picnic area for trolley passengers traveling between Huntington and surrounding towns. Over the decades, the grounds evolved from a simple rest stop into a full amusement park with rides.
The grounds preserve several classic rides from different decades, including a wooden roller coaster and carousels that draw visitors of all ages. Families often return across multiple generations, creating memories at the same attractions their parents and grandparents knew.
Visitors can purchase single-day or season passes online or at the entrance, with reduced rates available for younger children. Most rides accommodate different age groups, though some have minimum height requirements for safety reasons.
An old earthen mound still stands in the middle of the grounds, a reminder of when the site served as a picnic area for trolley passengers. This mound is one of the few visible remnants of the original landscape before the park was built.
