Falls Park

Falls Park is a protected area along the Big Sioux River where water cascades over dark quartzite rock formations, creating several viewpoints throughout the grounds. The space includes walking trails, observation areas, and various facilities for visitors.

A grain mill was built here in the 1800s to take advantage of the river's power, marking a key moment in the region's growth. The waterfall became central to the area's economic development during that period.

The name comes directly from the waterfalls, which have long served as a symbol of the city. Visitors come to experience the natural power of the river and enjoy the outdoor spaces where locals and travelers meet.

The park has clearly marked paths that lead to different viewpoints of the waterfalls, with benches placed along the way for resting. It is best to visit during daylight hours to see the water and rock formations clearly.
