Franconia Sculpture Park

Franconia Sculpture Park is an outdoor art museum featuring over 100 rotating contemporary sculptures spread across prairie grasslands and deciduous forests. The 50-acre grounds provide ample space for visitors to move between different artworks at their own pace.

Artists founded the park in 1996 on a smaller 16-acre site before expanding to the current 50-acre location in 2006. This growth allowed for a larger collection of works and more space for resident artists.

The grounds sit on ancestral Dakota Wahpekute territory near the Saint Croix River, creating a connection between contemporary art and the original inhabitants of this region.

The grounds open daily from 8 AM to 8 PM year-round, allowing flexible visits at any time of day. Golf cart rentals are available from April through October for those who prefer not to walk the full distance between artworks.

The site functions as an active artist residency, where sculptors create and install new works specifically designed for the location. This means visitors often encounter freshly made pieces that evolve with the seasons and the park's changing collection.
