Heritage Village Museum, Open-air museum in Sharon Woods, Ohio, US.
Heritage Village Museum is an open-air museum in Sharon Woods that preserves 13 historic buildings from the 1800s. These structures were moved from their original locations across Southwest Ohio and are furnished to show how people lived in that era.
This museum began in 1971 starting with the Elk Lick House as its foundation. Over the following decades, historic buildings were gathered from throughout Southwest Ohio and relocated to this site to create the collection seen today.
The buildings show how people lived and worked in rural Ohio more than 150 years ago, with furnished rooms and period details that reflect everyday life. Walking through these spaces helps you understand the choices people made about their homes and how they organized their daily routines.
Entry to the site requires a parking pass from Hamilton County's GreatParks system. The grounds provide walking paths connecting the buildings and benches where you can rest between stops.
Visitors receive booklets with QR codes that connect to video explanations and details about each building through their own devices. This approach lets people explore at their own pace without needing to follow a set route.
