Hollywood Cemetery extends across 135 acres of land with hills and valleys overlooking the James River in Richmond, Virginia.
Founded in 1847, the cemetery contains burial grounds for over 11,000 Confederate soldiers and two United States presidents, James Monroe and John Tyler.
The Presidents Circle section showcases Gothic Revival monuments marking the final resting places of significant historical figures from American history.
The cemetery gates open daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM during standard time and 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM during daylight saving time.
A 90-foot granite pyramid stands within the grounds as the Monument of the Confederate War Dead, constructed in 1869.
