John J. Tyler Arboretum, Botanical garden and heritage site in Delaware County, Pennsylvania.

The arboretum spans 650 acres of woodlands, wetlands, and meadows with 17 miles of pathways connecting various plant collections and natural areas.

Brothers Jacob and Minshall Painter established the systematic planting of trees and shrubs in 1825, creating a foundation for the current botanical collection.

The property connects eight generations of family stewardship from 1681 until 1944 when Laura Tyler transformed it into a nonprofit educational institution.

The arboretum welcomes visitors daily except for major holidays, with an entrance fee required for non-members at 515 Painter Road, Middletown Township.

The grounds contain Pennsylvania's largest Giant Sequoia tree, alongside Lebanon Cedar, Ginkgo, and Yulan Magnolia from the original Painter collection.
