Kittredge Mansion, Historic mansion in North Andover, United States
The Kittredge Mansion displays a three-story wood-frame structure with clapboarded exterior, hip roof, and flat center section surrounded by a balustrade.
Built in 1784 for Joseph Kittredge, the mansion remained within the same family and gained recognition on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
The mansion's architecture features wide fluted Doric pilasters at corners, half-height third floor windows, and an exceptional fireplace surround in the southwest parlor.
Located at 56 Academy Road in North Andover, Massachusetts, the mansion spans approximately 45 acres and maintains its original center hall floor plan.
During the 1920s and 1930s, Dr. Joseph Kittredge operated a small sanitarium within the mansion, continuing the family's medical legacy in the community.
