Scantic River State Park

Scantic River State Park is a large natural area with forest and wetland habitats that spans across three towns along the river. It provides multiple access points to the water and trails that pass through different types of terrain.

The state created it in 1967 to protect natural land for public use. Over the following decades, more land was added to expand the park.
