Shepherd Brooks Estate, Historic museum estate in Medford, Massachusetts, United States

The Shepherd Brooks Estate extends across 82 acres with a red brick manor house featuring multiple gables and a complex roofline at 275 Grove Street.

The estate, built in 1880 by Shepherd Brooks, stands as the last remaining 19th-century estate in Medford that maintains its original structural characteristics.

The property reflects the architectural preferences of wealthy Massachusetts families through its Queen Anne style design by the firm Peabody and Stearns.

The estate grounds remain open to visitors from dawn to dusk daily, while guided tours of the manor house operate during summer months.

Brooks Pond, the largest manufactured water feature in Medford, was manually excavated by Irish immigrants starting in 1884 to enhance the estate grounds.
