St. Augustine's University

Saint Augustine's University spreads across 105 acres north of Downtown Raleigh, offering more than 20 academic programs through specialized schools of arts, business, and education.

Founded in 1867 by Episcopal clergy for freed slaves, the institution began as St. Augustine's Normal School before evolving into a university through multiple transformations.
