Russian immigrant homesteaders established this religious center between 1915 and 1918, marking their settlement in the northern Minnesota region.
The interior contains a religious screen with icons installed in 1926, following Eastern Orthodox traditions without permanent seating for the congregation.
The church maintains its position on the National Register of Historic Places since 1983, preserving its architectural and cultural legacy.
A cemetery located a quarter mile from the church occupies land donated by Andrew Soroka, connecting generations of Russian settlers.
