Constructed in 1936 during the Great Depression, the facility cost $1 million and provided employment opportunities with workers limited to two-day weekly shifts.
The armory served as the home court for the New Jersey Americans basketball team in 1967-1968, before the team evolved into the Brooklyn Nets.
Located at 1799 Teaneck Road, the armory maintains active military operations while offering space for film productions and community gatherings.
Two military vehicles, an M42 Duster anti-aircraft vehicle and an M728 Combat Engineer Vehicle, stand permanently positioned facing Teaneck Road.
