Tuckahoe State Park, State park in Caroline County, United States.
Tuckahoe State Park is a large natural area in Maryland with forests, wetlands, and farmland surrounding a lake and Tuckahoe Creek. The property offers hiking trails, boat launching areas, and camping and fishing spots.
The park was established in 1963 by Maryland's natural resources agency as a protected area. Since then, it has preserved the region's natural habitats while offering space for outdoor activities.
The Adkins Arboretum within the park displays native plants across a large area and offers classes where visitors learn about local plant life and ecosystems. The gardens are designed so you can experience the region's different natural habitats firsthand.
More than 30 kilometers of trails allow for hiking, biking, and horseback riding through the park's different landscapes. Visitors should keep in mind that weather and season affect trail and water conditions.
A section of the American Discovery Trail, a hiking route system spanning several US states, passes through the park. This cross-state connection makes the park a point along one of the country's longest hiking routes.
