Yorkville Library, Public library branch in Upper East Side Manhattan, US.

Yorkville Library is a Palladian-style building at 222 East 79th Street that occupies three floors with distinct sections for different needs. Adult books and materials are housed on the ground level, while children's collections are located in the upper stories.

The building was designed by architect James Brown Lord and funded through the Carnegie library program. It opened on December 13, 1902, as part of New York City's effort to expand public access to library services.

The library hosts regular programs including reading circles, language classes, and skill-building workshops that draw neighbors together. These events create spaces where people of different ages and backgrounds come to learn from one another and discover new interests.

The library provides free wireless internet access, computers, and printing services available to all visitors. A meeting room on the lower level can be reserved for community gatherings and group activities.

The structure underwent extensive renovations between 1986 and 1987 that brought modern technology and services to the space. These updates preserved the original 1902 architectural details while making the building functional for contemporary needs.
