Roanoke Apartments

Roanoke Apartments is a residential complex composed of seven brick buildings with glass block panels and horizontal banding located at 1402 Maiden Lane. The structures form a cohesive community with multiple dwelling units and shared outdoor spaces.

Built in 1950 to house families of World War II veterans, the complex became the largest residential development in Roanoke at that time. In 2006, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, recognizing its historical importance to the community.

The residential complex houses people from many countries and creates a shared living space where different cultures coexist daily. Walking through the grounds, you can see how residents from different backgrounds interact in common areas.

The complex is located on an easy-to-find street in town and is accessible by foot or car from main thoroughfares. The grounds include sidewalks and outdoor areas that are open for visitors to explore at their own pace.
