Aquaboggan Park, park in the United States of America
Aquaboggan Park is a water and amusement park in Saco, York County, Maine, a short drive from Old Orchard Beach. The grounds include slides of varying height and speed, a large wave pool, a mini-golf course, bumper boats, and a bumper car circuit.
Aquaboggan Park has been open for over 35 years and is the oldest water park in Maine. Over time, new rides and attractions were added to keep up with changing tastes, while the park kept its seasonal, summer-only character.
Aquaboggan Park draws mostly local families and summer visitors from the Maine coast looking for a day away from the beach. Children run between the slides while adults settle into chairs near the pools, giving the place a relaxed, communal feel.
The park is open only during the summer season, generally from late spring until school starts in the fall. Visitors are welcome to bring their own food and drinks in coolers, though glass containers, alcohol, and grills are not allowed inside.
The Stealthy 5 is a half-pipe slide that stands about 45 feet (14 m) tall and sends riders swinging back and forth on the water surface rather than simply going straight down. This type of ride is relatively rare among water parks and tends to catch first-time visitors off guard.
