Shahzadpur Kachharibari, Archaeological site in Shahjadpur Upazila, Bangladesh

The Shahzadpur Kachharibari is a mansion with seven rooms built in the traditional Bengali style and now operates as a museum. The structure displays artifacts and personal items related to Rabindranath Tagore's connection to the property.

Dwarkanath Tagore acquired the estate in 1840, and it became an important family residence over time. During the late 1800s, members of the family used the property as a creative workspace and living quarters.

The house displays personal belongings of Rabindranath Tagore, including his piano, harmonium, and wooden sandals that reflect daily life at the estate. These objects offer insight into how the Bengali intellectual and writer lived and worked during his time here.

The museum opens Monday through Saturday, and morning visits allow more time for exploration without crowding. The seven rooms flow in a logical sequence, making it easy to move through the exhibits.

Rabindranath Tagore wrote several important plays and works while living at this residence, including Bishorjon and Chitra. These compositions represent key moments in his creative output and were created within these rooms.
