Walter Zoo

Walter Zoo is an animal park in Gossau that houses around 900 animals from roughly 130 different species in various enclosures. The grounds let visitors observe wildlife from many regions of the world.

The facility started as a small local operation and grew over time into an established wildlife center serving the region. This expansion enabled it to offer a more diverse animal collection to visitors.

Daily feeding demonstrations let visitors watch keepers interact with animals up close and understand how different species are cared for. These moments create a direct connection between people and the creatures they observe.

The zoo is accessible by public transport, making it easy to arrive without needing to find parking. Visitors should wear sturdy shoes and be prepared for uneven terrain since the grounds are outdoors.
