Büren Castle

Büren Castle is a fortress in Büren an der Aare built with thick stone walls, several towers, and defensive architectural features typical of 17th-century Swiss construction. The building displays the sturdy, fortified character of its era, with robust masonry and strategic structural elements designed for protection.

The castle was built in the 17th century and served for a long time as an administrative seat for regional authorities. In 1798, French troops invaded and occupied it, leaving bullet holes that remain visible on the walls today.
