The Červený domek is a literary museum in Czech Kostelec na Hané, housed in a brick building. The ground floor contains two exhibition rooms, with the first showing a reconstructed study space of the poet and the second presenting historical records and personal objects.
The poet Petr Bezruč, born as Vladimír Vašek, spent the final nineteen years of his life in this house until his death in 1958. The building was later transformed into a memorial to his contributions to Czech literature.
The house is named for its distinctive red brick construction and shows how the poet spent his days here. Visitors encounter personal belongings and documents that reflect his life in this space.
The museum is open from April through October, Tuesday to Friday from 1 PM to 6 PM and weekends from 10 AM to 6 PM. During the summer months of July and August, visitors can come daily except Monday from 10 AM to 6 PM.
The poet was initially unknown under his birth name in literary circles and created his most significant works about Silesia, even though he was not born there. His works capture the lives of people in a region with which he felt deeply connected, despite his different origins.
