Sternberg is a town in the Ludwigslust-Parchim District of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It centers around a historic market square lined with traditional brick buildings that reflect the characteristic architecture of northern Germany.

Sternberg was founded in the Middle Ages and developed as a trading town in the Mecklenburg region. The town preserved its medieval street layout and remained a local center through the centuries that followed.

The town is easy to explore on foot and most points of interest are located in the center. Spring and autumn are ideal times to visit when the weather is mild and local markets and events take place.
