Schloss Altenmuhr, Medieval water castle in Muhr am See, Germany.

The stone fortress features a five-story bergfried reaching 20 meters in height, with walls measuring 1.6 meters in thickness at its southwest corner.

The castle dates back to the 12th century when it was constructed by the Lords of Muhr, who served as vassals to the bishops of Eichstätt.

The west wing contains elaborate stucco ceilings created by Hans Kuhn from Nuremberg, representing regional craftsmanship from the early 17th century.

While the exterior remains accessible to visitors, the castle interior maintains private status under the ownership of the Le Suire family since 1837.

The east wing preserves a grisaille tapestry from 1810-1820 within a hall that received restoration work in 2006.
