Hakeburg, Manor house in Kleinmachnow, Germany

Hakeburg is a manor house perched on Seeberg hill in Kleinmachnow with views over Lake Machnower and the Bäketal nature reserve. This neo-Romanesque building features distinctive turrets and decorative stonework characteristic of its early 20th-century construction.

The estate was constructed between 1906 and 1908 as a residence for Dietloff von Hake, a Berlin industrialist. After World War II, the East German government converted it into a training facility for party officials before it returned to private use at the century's end.

From 1948 to the 1990s, the building functioned as the central party school for the Socialist Unity Party, receiving notable figures like Fidel Castro.

The grounds are surrounded by green slopes and are pleasant to walk through, with paths connecting various parts of the estate. Since the building is now divided into residential units, access inside is restricted, but the exterior views offer good photo opportunities from different angles.

The property retains a historic wellness center with a swimming pool that has operated for decades, merging the estate's past resort function with present-day comfort. This feature reflects how the location maintained its role as a retreat destination across different historical periods.
