St. Nikolaikirche

St. Nikolaikirche is a Gothic church with three naves, cross vaults, and intricately carved tracery in its windows. The interior displays typical Gothic proportions with stone masonry and carefully worked architectural details.

A church stood at this location from the 12th century, but the current Gothic structure was completed in the mid-14th century. The distinctive towers still display features from the earlier Romanesque style.

The church has served as the spiritual center of the university for more than 200 years, shaping student life and community gatherings. Regular services and events here weave together faith and academic traditions.
