Chapelle Saintes-Anne-et-Brigitte de Stralsund

The Saints Anne and Bridget Chapel exhibits traditional northern German brick architecture from the fifteenth century with its distinctive red masonry work.

The construction of this chapel began in 1470 under Mayor Otto Voge, who received consecration from Bishop Werner Wolmers of Schwerin.

This former Catholic chapel demonstrates the strong presence of female religious orders in medieval Pomerania through its dedication to two female saints.

Following extensive renovations between 2003 and 2008, this religious building, deconsecrated in 1988, transformed into a modern celebration space.
