St. Apollinaris, Gothic Revival church in District 3, Germany.
St. Apollinaris is a Gothic Revival church in Düsseldorf featuring an unusual five-nave layout with an almost square footprint. The design combines three wider central naves with two narrower side choirs, creating a distinctive spatial arrangement.
The church was established in 1904 after the Eykeler family donated land to serve the growing Catholic population in the area. This gift made the construction of a new place of worship possible during a period of urban growth.
The altar houses relics of Saint Apollinaris, the patron for whom the church is named and revered here. A sandstone baptismal font at the entrance reflects the craftsmanship of the interior.
The church is located at Van-Douven-Straße 8 and is easily accessible by public transport. Visitors can take Tram 706 or Bus 736 to the Kruppstraße stop nearby.
The organ was built from 1951 to 1962 by Romanus Seifert & Sohn and features 37 registers spread across three manuals and pedals. This instrument is one of the most noteworthy features within the sanctuary.
