Wertwiesenpark, Public park in Heilbronn, Germany.
Wertwiesenpark is a 15-hectare green space situated between Heilbronn's city center and the Sontheim district along the Neckar River banks. The area features pathways, several gardens with different plantings, and numerous sections for play and sports activities.
This space emerged from the 1985 Baden-Württemberg State Garden Show, which transformed agricultural land into a recreational green area for the city. The project marked an important shift in Heilbronn's landscape development and drew many visitors to the newly created space.
The artworks distributed throughout the grounds reflect the city's contemporary vision, inviting visitors to pause and experience sculpture in an open setting. You notice how these installations blend naturally with the landscape and the people who move through it.
The site has three playgrounds, sports facilities, and a miniature golf course open throughout the year. The wide pathways accommodate various ways of moving through the space and offer shaded rest spots beneath trees.
The perennial garden displays around 13,000 plants arranged in a wave pattern that shifts with each season. Beyond this section, specialized gardens for roses, grasses, and fragrant species offer visitors layers of discovery as they walk through.
