Hortulus in Dobrzyca

Hortulus is a multi-section garden complex in Dobrzyca featuring distinct landscape styles including Japanese, French, and Mediterranean gardens alongside dedicated rose and herb sections. The layout guides visitors through these different zones, each displaying its own collection of plants and design principles.

The site grew out of a former plant nursery that was transformed during the 1990s into a public garden and educational center. This shift brought regional horticultural knowledge to visitors and established a new type of local attraction.

The gardens blend local Polish growing traditions with design approaches from around the world, bringing together plants adapted to different climates. You can observe how different cultures have shaped distinct ways of organizing and caring for green spaces.

The garden welcomes visitors daily from April through October, with guided tours available in Polish, English, and German. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended as paths wind through the different sections, with much to see especially during blooming seasons.

The garden has grown steadily over time with new plant varieties and designed areas continuously being added to the collection. This ongoing development means returning visitors always find something fresh to explore and discover.
