The Hinanger Waterfall descends through multiple rocky steps, featuring a main drop of 12 meters and extending across a width of 100 meters.
During the Ice Age, the Iller-Foreland Glacier transported large amounts of gravel and rock debris from the Alps, forming the foundation of the current waterfall.
The Bavarian State Office for Environment classified this location as a scientifically valuable geotope due to its geological formations and specialized plant life.
Visitors can access the waterfall through a marked trail from the roadside parking area, requiring a 10 to 15-minute walk with a gentle incline.
The waterfall creates porous calcareous tufa through chemical reactions between the water and rain, supported by specific plants in the surrounding area.
