Theater das Zimmer, Independent theater in Horn district, Hamburg, Germany
Theater das Zimmer is a theater housed in a converted retail space with 40 seats located in Hamburg's Horn district. The compact venue lacks curtains or stage barriers, enabling direct interaction between performers and audience members.
The venue opened in 2014 after converting a former retail store at Washingtonallee into a performance space. It has since become one of Hamburg's smallest private theater venues.
The venue presents classical theater forms, modern chamber plays, musicals, and comedies in a space designed for close connection. Both established and emerging local artists find a platform here.
The theater is located on Washingtonallee in the Horn district and is easily accessible by public transport. It is advisable to book tickets in advance, as the limited seating fills up quickly.
The venue created a special program called HORN TO GO that brings theatrical performances to neighborhood walks. This community-focused initiative was nominated multiple times for Hamburg's district culture award.
