Kollegienhaus, University main building in Erlangen, Germany
The Kollegienhaus features three pavilions with slate mansard roofs, constructed from sandstone and brick elements facing the Schlossgarten garden.
Built between 1886 and 1889 by architect Friedrich Wilhelm Scharff, the Kollegienhaus emerged during a period of university expansion in the German Empire.
The building displays the university motto 'Veritati Humanitati Virtuti' on its central pavilion, with allegorical figures representing the four classical faculties.
The structure houses lecture halls and seminars for humanities, theology, and legal studies departments, with additional escape routes installed in 2019.
The attic stores academic gowns used during ceremonial occasions, while the Senate Hall features intricate wooden panels and a coffered ceiling.
