Vicelinkirche, Romanesque church in Pronstorf, Germany.
Vicelinkirche is a Romanesque church building in Pronstorf with a rectangular nave and square choir. A round tower topped with an octagonal spire rises near the cemetery grounds.
The building was first documented in 1198 and stands on the site of a former pagan shrine dedicated to the Wendish deity Prone. This marks the transition from pagan to Christian worship traditions in the region.
The nave ceiling displays 28 biblical scenes painted in 1680, showing stories from the Old and New Testaments. These images served the congregation as a visual teaching tool during worship.
The interior contains a 1999 Marcussen organ with 15 registers across two manuals and pedal that enhances musical experience during services. Visitors should check opening times beforehand since regular services are held.
A floating baptismal angel from 1760 hangs from the ceiling holding the baptismal bowl. It replaced the original baptismal font made from Gotland sandstone dating from the 13th century.
