Dinosaur Park Kleinwelka, Dinosaur and miniature park in Bautzen, Germany
Dinosaur Park Kleinwelka is an open-air attraction in Bautzen that displays more than 200 life-size dinosaur replicas, including Brachiosaurus, Stegosaurus and Tyrannosaurus Rex. The models are spread across a large site with forest paths, clearings and play areas.
The park opened in 2004 and has since steadily expanded its collection of prehistoric replicas. Over the years, additional educational areas and play installations have been built to make the visit more interactive.
The name Kleinwelka refers to the small village at the forest edge where the park sits, a place that has belonged to Sorbian Lusatia for centuries. Children can dig at simulated excavation sites and uncover fossils at the research camp, turning their visit into a playful learning experience.
The site is located between Dresden and Görlitz near the A4 motorway and is open from March to November. Admission costs 17 euros for visitors aged four and older, and the paths are suitable for strollers and wheelchairs.
A large water play area called Galactic Nebula invites children to splash around, while climbing structures allow visitors to view large dinosaur models up close and from above. Some figures move or emit sounds, making the walk through the grounds more lively.
