Schloss Meerholz, Cultural heritage château in Meerholz, Germany
The four-winged castle complex features an eastern church with a tower from 1560 and includes two octagonal staircase towers with baroque portals.
The structure replaced a 12th-century Premonstratensian monastery and became the residence of the Isenburg-Meerholz line after construction between 1555 and 1564.
The castle buildings underwent transformation in 1904 and 1905, incorporating neo-Gothic elements and creating an additional inner courtyard for healthcare purposes.
The facility now operates as a nursing home with 210 care spaces, managed by the Frankfurt Evangelical Association for Inner Mission.
The castle grounds contain an extensive park on the northern slope, with the southern wing displaying a decorative volute gable.
