St. Anschar, Church building and heritage monument in Eppendorf, Hamburg, Germany.
St. Anschar is a neo-Gothic church with a single tower and a mechanical organ. The interior contains eleven registers spread across two manuals and a pedal keyboard.
The church was built in 1889 following architect Julius Faulwasser's design. Major renovations in the mid-20th century updated its structure and function.
The parish grew from a 19th century social movement focused on caring for people in need. It remains a center where faith and community support intertwine in the neighborhood.
The church is located in the Eppendorf neighborhood and is easily accessible on foot or by public transport. Keep in mind that services occur at set times and that the space remains an active community gathering place.
The organ underwent multiple modifications and was renewed at the end of the 20th century to meet modern standards. These adaptations show how historical buildings update their technical equipment to remain functional.
