Gremberger Wäldchen, Heritage forest park in Humboldt-Gremberg, Germany.
The Gremberger Wäldchen contains a network of walking paths through dense vegetation and displays multiple tree species within its 72-hectare area.
The forest land, initially part of the Abbey of Deutz in 1003, was purchased by the city of Cologne in 1899 for 400,000 Marks.
The forest includes a memorial site commemorating 74 Soviet citizens who lost their lives during captivity between 1941 and 1945.
The forest area provides designated pathways for walking and jogging activities, accessible from surrounding neighborhoods of Poll, Ostheim, and Vingst.
The forest houses the oldest tree in Cologne, a beech tree dating back to the early 18th century.
