Valdemar's Castle, Manor house on Tåsinge island, Denmark
The Renaissance manor house features symmetrical architecture with two prominent wings extending from the central building near the waterfront location.
King Christian IV commissioned the construction of Valdemar's Castle between 1639 and 1644 for his son Valdemar Christian under architect Hans van Steenwinckel's direction.
The castle includes exhibition spaces dedicated to maritime history, displaying artifacts and collections that represent Denmark's naval traditions and heritage.
Visitors can access the castle from May through October, with guided tours available that cover the chapel, maritime museum, and trophy collection.
Admiral Niels Juel received the castle in 1678 as payment for captured Swedish ships, establishing a family legacy that continued for ten generations.
