Albertslund, Suburban district in Copenhagen Metropolitan Area, Denmark
Albertslund is a residential suburb west of Copenhagen that features extensive green areas and water features woven through its neighborhoods. The district combines housing with parks and small lakes that shape daily life for those who live there.
The name comes from a former farm that existed in the village of Vridsløselille until 1960. The area later became a modern residential district with improved infrastructure.
Albertslund station features a bronze water sculpture named Scenarie, depicting a man in a bathtub, created by Danish artist Peter Land in 2008.
The main train station connects to Copenhagen's S-train network with a travel time of about 20 minutes to the center. The station includes shops, ticket counters, and ample bicycle parking for visitors and commuters.
On September 25, 2020, a Low-End IF2 tornado swept through Albertslund, causing substantial damage to buildings and uprooting trees across the suburb.
