Post & Tele Museum, Postal museum in Copenhagen, Denmark
The Post & Tele Museum was an institution in Copenhagen dedicated to Danish communication history. It housed collections of stamps, postal vehicles, and telecommunications equipment from different eras.
The museum was established in 1907 from the private collection of Postmaster General Jens Wilken Mørch and opened to visitors in 1913 at the Central Post Office. German forces occupied the building during World War II and significantly reduced exhibition spaces until 1945.
The exhibits demonstrate the progression of Danish communication methods, from handwritten letters to digital messaging, reflecting societal changes through postal artifacts.
The museum was located at the Central Post Office in Copenhagen and closed its doors in 2017. Its collection and focus on communication history were later continued at the new Enigma Museum.
During World War II, German forces took control of the museum space, leading to a significant reduction in exhibition areas until 1945.
