Museum Erotica was a sex museum in central Copenhagen featuring 25 galleries with paintings, photographs, films, magazines, and sculptures. The collection explored human sexuality through various artistic media and visual forms.
The museum was founded in 1992 by photographer Ole Ege and manager Kim Clausen, relocating to Kobmagergade 24 in 1994. It remained at that address until closing in 2009.
The exhibitions displayed erotic artworks and artifacts spanning different societies and time periods, from ancient civilizations to modern day. Visitors could observe how various cultures expressed sexuality through visual art.
The museum was located in central Copenhagen and was easily accessible on foot. Keep in mind that certain sections had age restrictions requiring visitors to be 16 or older.
A dedicated section focused on Marilyn Monroe, showcasing memorabilia related to the famous actress. Another room featured television screens displaying visual content that provided a different perspective on the subject matter.
