Gamul Kebir is a diving site near Safaga that consists of three separate coral formations rising from the seafloor. The waters here are clear, allowing visitors to see the reef structure and the variety of fish and marine creatures living among the corals.
The reef became known as a diving destination during the expansion of Red Sea tourism in the mid-twentieth century. It has since developed into a regular stop on guided tours from the nearby port.
