Sant Joan de Fàbregues

The church features a single nave with three apses arranged in a clover shape, topped by an octagonal dome with a lantern at 825 meters elevation.

First documented in 968, Sant Joan de Fàbregues served as the original parish church of Rupit until 1955, when the town changed its ecclesiastical organization.

The structure represents Lombard Romanesque architecture with decorative elements including arched friezes, pilaster strips, and a sawtooth pattern on the apses.

The church building remains accessible through a three-kilometer paved road, with stone picnic tables available near the grounds for visitors.

The surrounding garden area preserves an ancient cemetery with an entrance gate dating from 1777, offering views across the Catalonian landscape.
