Playa de Rodas

The 1200-meter-long stretch of sand extends between two islands, bordered by clear Atlantic waters and a natural lagoon behind the beach.

The Guardian newspaper designated this beach as the finest in the world during 2007, bringing international recognition to this part of Spain.

The beach forms part of the Atlantic Islands of Galicia National Park, where strict environmental regulations maintain the natural conditions of the ecosystem.

Visitors need to obtain permits and take a ferry from Vigo to reach the beach, with a daily limit of 2200 people allowed on the islands.

The water temperature remains cool throughout the year due to the Atlantic currents, creating natural swimming conditions different from Mediterranean beaches.
