Lo Passador bridge, Bridge between Sant Jaume d'Enveja and Deltebre, Spain
Lo Passador is a bridge spanning roughly 250 meters across the Ebro River between Sant Jaume d'Enveja and Deltebre, with two lanes for cars and a separate path for bicycles. Several spots allow you to stop and look out over the water.
The area was long connected only by ferry, a service that began in 1849 between the two banks. The modern bridge was built in 2010 and ended this centuries-old way of crossing.
The bridge links two communities in the Ebro Delta where rice farming and fishing remain central to how people live and work. Both sides of the river show fields and homes shaped by these activities.
The bridge has parking available on both sides and connects easily to paths along the riverbanks. You can walk or cycle comfortably on either side without difficulty.
The bridge lighting creates striking reflections on the river water during evening hours when the sun begins to set. This effect is most visible during the brief time between daylight and darkness.
