Church of San Salvador de Manín, Parish church in Manín, Spain.
The Church of San Salvador de Manín is a parish church with a Latin cross layout, consisting of a single nave divided into three bays and a tower at the crossing. The interior contains a decorated main altarpiece and ornamental doors that define its sacred spaces.
The building was constructed in 1764 under the tenure of Abbot Damián Vélez de la Llana. It was later relocated twice to protect it from rising reservoir waters.
The main altarpiece features carved relief scenes. The sacristy doors display Adam and Eve with supporting atlas figures in a sculptural arrangement.
The church is accessible by a paved road branching from the OU-540 highway after passing through Compostela de Lobios. A walking path ascends to the building through the surrounding landscape.
In 1992, the entire structure was dismantled stone by stone and reconstructed at its current location in La Travesa. This extraordinary effort demonstrates how the structure was preserved from submersion.
