Beckhampton Avenue, Ancient trackway and UNESCO World Heritage Site near Avebury, England.

Beckhampton Avenue is an ancient stone alignment in the Wiltshire landscape that connects prehistoric sites together. The route consists of double rows of standing stones stretching over several kilometers, built alongside ditches and banks.

The stone alignment was built over 4500 years ago during the Neolithic period as part of a larger landscape of monuments. Over time some stones were removed or damaged, but much of the original structure remains visible today.

The stone rows show how important shared ceremonies were to early communities and the care they took in building them. Visitors can still walk these ancient paths today and understand where these people led their processions.

The route runs openly across the landscape and accessibility varies depending on weather and season. Informational signs at various points help visitors understand the route and recognize the importance of different sections.

Some original stones have disappeared but the remaining ones show a clear pattern that becomes apparent with careful observation. Archaeologists found the site was not built all at once but developed in phases, showing how ideas about such places evolved over generations.
