Church of All Souls, Bolton, Gothic Revival church in Astley Bridge, Bolton, England.
Church of All Souls is a Gothic Revival building in red brick with sandstone details and a prominent west tower. The interior spans 52 feet (16 meters) without supporting pillars running through the space.
Construction took place between 1878 and 1881, funded by a substantial family inheritance. The building has remained part of the local landscape since its completion and underwent major renovation work in 2014.
The stained glass windows show New Testament scenes and were created by Clayton and Bell. The eastern chancel holds artistic works by Burlison and Grylls that invite visitors to pause and reflect.
After renovation in 2014, the building now operates as a community center with office spaces, meeting rooms, a cafe, and Wi-Fi. Visitors can find spaces for working, meeting, and relaxing while experiencing the original architectural character.
Two contemporary architectural pods inside provide spaces for training and learning activities. These modern additions coexist with the historical structure, showing how the building has been adapted for new purposes.
