Goldney Hall, University dormitory in Clifton, Bristol, England.
Goldney Hall is a residential complex for University of Bristol students, consisting of multiple buildings with single rooms and en-suite bathrooms. The structures sit within landscaped gardens that form part of the campus.
The main house was built in 1724 and underwent major redesign by architect Alfred Waterhouse in the 1860s. These changes shaped the building's appearance as it stands today.
The student residence organizes the annual Goldney Ball, bringing together over 1000 participants while generating funds for local charitable organizations.
The site sits within the university district and is best explored on foot. Keep in mind this is a residential area, so the rules of the residents apply.
The gardens contain a historic shell grotto built between 1737 and 1764 and fitted with working water features. This grotto ranks among the rarest of its kind in Britain.
