M&D's

M&D's is an amusement park in Motherwell, Scotland, with 41 attractions including roller coasters, water rides, and an indoor tropical house called Amazonia. The complex spreads across several zones and sits directly next to Strathclyde Park.

The park opened in 1996 and has since changed hands several times, including a brief administration period in 2020. After that period, the facility passed into new ownership again.

The name comes from the founding Taylor family, whose initials M and D still mark the park today. Visitors see Scottish design elements throughout, blending with modern rides to create a distinct local leisure style.

The Alona Hotel within the complex offers overnight stays, and several dining venues sit within walking distance. Direct access to neighboring Strathclyde Park is available, making longer visits convenient.

Amazonia is the only covered rainforest in Scotland and houses exotic animals in a climate-controlled space. The temperature remains stable year-round, allowing tropical species to thrive even during Scottish winters.
